Truth can be dreams: September 2006

Friday, September 29, 2006

Well my awesome husband has been able to retrieve some more videos and pictures from our crashed computer. He spent some time on the phone with Dell and they walked him through some stuff. Our hard drive is still garbage but at least we where able to get some more files!

On another subject. I have been very torn lately about dance (and other arts). I have never been so blessed to be asked to travel different places to dance or teach on arts in worship and also never felt so much like my gift is a fraud or something. It's been an interesting September I guess that's all I have to say. I have not fully thought all this through or lived it all out yet but I assume that with God this will make me stronger and weaker all at the same time.

Wow what a nutty two weeks

So our computer totally crashed over two weeks ago. LOOOOONG story short the hard drive is trash which means we lost a bunch of information. The most important being pictures and video. I am so sad when I think about it I start to tear. It's the video I care most about. I was always taking short videos of the kids dancing or singing or whatever. They where able to retrieve some of the pictures but hardly any, don't get me wrong I am thrilled about the ones they got but there are so many more.....Christmas, silver singing at his Christmas concert, birthdays, trips to the zoo. (long pause)

Well we bought a used Apple from a store at the UofW. Ryan was really needing to do his homework (which includes a lot of internet stuff) so we just bit the bullet and got it. I think it was a good purchase. It seems like a solid computer. I can't believe how dependent we are on computers! Crazy.

I had a couple of my sisters visit me this past weekend and I am on my way to Thunder Bay for a good friends wedding this weekend. The kids are doing really good. Silver is liking school although not as much as last year. He has clung to me a bit more when we are walking there. The other morning he hugged me and said "Don't leave me Mommie". He wasn't crying or anything. I think he just wanted a big hug and some encouragement. It was really hard for me to tell him he needed to go to school since I never really enjoyed it and I see a lot of me in him.

If any of you who are reading this have ever received pictures or video from me through email if you could email copies to me that would be great. It could be something I don't have. Thanks!

I'm not dead but our computer is. It crashed a week ago and I have felt so totally out of touch. All our schedule stuff was on it. We should be able to get it all fixed up soon. So if anyone is emailing me don'e expect a reply for a few days more.

Does anyone know anyone who is selling a fairly new Apple computer? We want to buy one?

I saw some leaves falling today. What does that mean? Is it that time already? No I don't think so. Just some premature leaves.

Today I have cleaned my fridge, bathroom and am still in the process of cleaning the oven. It's all been long over due. I will be home with the kids mon-fri in the day times while Ryan is at school. He has a pretty crazy schedule this year. We are both trying to keep our jobs as well as juggle everything else. I'm not sure how it will go but we have given our selves until Christmas to see if we can handle everything. One of us may need to quit a job.

The kids have been amazing today. They are playing so great with each other. Silver starts kindergarten tomorrow! WOW! It's so crazy. I totally remember kindergarten. So he is at that age where he will remember things for life. WOW! I can hardly believe it. He has been saying some amazing things lately. I keep thinking how I should write some of the stuff down. I really should because I have a terrible memory and some of the stuff he comes up with is definitely worth remembering.

Sorry nothing very exciting today. I am working on a blog about community and my thoughts on that. I may never publish it.

Back to School

So our family has been gearing up for school to start. For us that means taking some time out for each other. We have been spending as much time with the kids as possible. We won't really be able to do any major school shopping until the student loan comes in. I'm looking forward to that :) Both of the kids have grown out of most of there clothes.

Yesterday and today Ryan has been working as an extra on a film. It's so great that he has this opportunity before he gets really busy with school. Being an extra is not exactly what he wants to do but hey for now it's a good way to watch and learn about parts of the industry. We have been praying that he would get a line;)

Well that's about all that is up with us. I will have more time to post in a the next couple of weeks.
