Truth can be dreams: July 2005

http://www.danceministry.com/ This is a website that has totally blown me away. I am reading the book by the founder of this ministry. It has some great foundational stuff in it that could benefit dancers and non dancers alike.

There are some small video clips that are really cool and they did a big event with almost 200 dancers and a huge band all just to worship God! That is so freakin cool. There are some dances with like 30 or 40 people!!! That's what I want to do one day. A dance with a huge group of people! It would be amazing to have the whole church get involved. I am going to pray for that :)

Yikes

We are leaving early Friday morning for Eston and Street invaders. I have so many plans and major vision for the week we will be there teaching and learning. I have been just plugging away trying to fit all the stuff I need to get done into my usual schedule. It's been a bit crazy.

Today I made 4 capes (one for Silver) and last night I made 3 skirts. I still need to make one more cape and 6 skirts. I should be able to get that done tomorrow. Just writing this out is making me realize how much I need to do. I still need my music mixed and that is stressing me out the most. Because I can't really plan and time the choreography until I have the final cut of music.

Also I am planning on running a bit of a workshop for the dance leaders who will be there. I really want them to receive as well as give. I have been piecing that together too. I still need to finish reading the book that I am getting most of my info out of.

O.K I need to stop talking about it because I'm freaking and I need to get to sleep.

Got material?

Does anyone out there have any extra material they just don't want? I am constantly needing material of all kinds for dance/drama. As some of you know material can be very expensive. Anyway if you have any or know of someone who might be willing to donate it to our dance program at the Vineyard please email me. Thanks!

This is me. I used to love sucking on wet hand towels. I also used to wear them on my head. Trinity likes to play with wet towels too! My sister just told me that I used to wipe my nose on them HAHAHA!

get lost

This was a pretty nutty week for me and my family. Here it is

Monday- Ryan works in the day and I have a dance practice at night
Tuesday- out with the kids in the morning and I work evening
Wednesday - Ryan works 11-4:15, I rush to pick him up then bolt off to work at 5
Thursday - out to the park with the kids then off to work for me again
Friday - I work again in the day rush home to bake a cake then off to pick up some dresses and then to dance practice
Saturday - Yes work again for me in the morning then to Carlies to help her with some stuff while Ryan goes to work.

I guess what made it see so long and hard was that I worked 5 days in a row which I don't think I have done for about 2 years. On wednesday night Ryan told me that about 20 mins after he put Silver to bed Silver called him in the room and said "I miss mommie". That sucks. Being gone that many nights in one week is not something I want to do very often.

To top the long week off tonight when I left Carlies house (which is about 5 mins from mine) I got lost! yes that's right. I was so tired and not paying attention I turned the wrong way many times. It took me more than 1/2 hour to get home. The kids where screaming almost the whole way. I was so at the end of my rope by the time I got home. Anyway I am glad to be going to bed soon. Good night.

On my mind

A list of things on my mind
- Shane and Kristi and what they are dealing with
- Elias and his poison ivy
- dance, getting all my stuff done
- adopting (I just can't wait until we are able to)
- getting our passports, and how much that will cost!

Today we got a new picture of our World Vision girl. She is so adorable. I need to write her back today. So I guess I will get on that. As soon as my kids are sleeping.

Taking care of business

I am working 5 days this coming week! That's a heck of a lot. I actually can't remember the last time I worked that much. It's probably been 3 years or so. Just for fun here is a brief history of all the jobs I have held.

Job #1, age 12 - shoveling horse poop. My friend and I loved riding horses and we traded shoveling for riding.

#2, age 13 - Bonanza restaurant. I wanted to work so bad that I practically begged them to hire me. I was a few months too young but they hired be anyway. It was a great experience. I think I got paid something like 3.50 an hour! Yikes.

#3, age 18 to 21 - Taco Time. I worked there for about 4 years. My boss was a great guy and I still say hi to him every time I'm in Thunder Bay. Although this was a good job I just wasted my life away for those 4 years. I was avoiding so much. Including God.

#4, age 22 to 23 - Rundle Ridge Chalets. This was amazing! It is located on the #1 highway right between Canmore and Banff, Alta. I woke up everyday to the beautiful mountains. I cleaned the cabins after people checked out, and also worked at the front desk. I loved this job. I worked there 2 seasons and even went back at Christmas to help with the rush time. Amazing people to work for. This was my first experience working for Christians and it was great.

#5, age 22 - SAAN. During the spring I moved to Abostford to live with my sister. Her and her family had just moved there and she was lonely and I didn't want to live in Thunder Bay so it worked out great.

#6, age 23 - Taco Time! Yes that's right again! I lived in Abbotsford a few months and then made my way to Kamloops. I needed a job badly and so worked at a Taco Time. My boss was a little weird. We found out months later that she and her husband where croke and took off with money and stole a car! HELLO! I only worked this job a few months as I needed to head back to Canmore for the summer.

#6.5, age 23 - Time Hortons. I almost forgot that I even had this job. I worked there for two weeks and then quit. My boss was a total jerk. I don't work for people who treat me like crap so I quit. He tried to get away with not paying me so I had to go to workers comp and they got my money for me.

#7, age 24 - Kamloops Christian daycare. I first started working as the janitor and soon was working part time in the daycare. It was pretty decent money.

#8,age 24 to 25 - TACO TIME! YES AGAIN! I needed money to pay rent and eat. I also had a car and needed to pay for insurance and gas so yet again I worked at a Taco Time. I really didn't like it but I did what I had too.

#9, age 24 - Four Points Hotel. While working those other two jobs I also worked at this hotel cleaning rooms. I really like this sort of job. I can go at my own pace and work alone. But I wasn't getting enough hours so after 4 months or so I quit to work more at Taco Time. While I was working Here and Taco TIme I would get off at the hotel and bolt over to Taco Time to start there. It was a crazy time I hope I never have to work like that again!

#10, age 25 - Flyers and Papers (still working at taco time). Carlie and I needed money so we took over a kids paper and flyer root for 3 weeks. It was a pain in the butt and I only made about 100.00 bucks. It was terrible.

#11, age 25 - Little Caesers pizza. Ryan and I were married by this time and I got this job to work at nights to bring in extra money. It wasn't too bad. I had some nights that sucked but I did make good money. I quit all my jobs when we moved to Thunder Bay.

That's all I can remember now. If I think of anymore I will add them later. Wasn't this exciting? HAHAHAHA!

Update

I have attempted to update this thing for a few days now. But every time I get started I get distracted and never Finnish.

We got some of our car fixed. We had the stuff done that was most pressing. God is good! We hope to have the rest taken care of in the next few weeks.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

We went down to the Forks and the kids played in the park and then I went in to work. MAN it was NUTTY down there. I worked 12-3 and by the time I got off at 3 it was INSANE! There where hundreds of people down there. I'm not a big fan of HUGE crowds. When a bunch of humans get together in one small area it scares me. That's why you will never find me at a concert, well I would brave the crowds for U2. Other than that, NO WAY!

I saw another doctor on Wednesday and it was amazing! I can hardly explain my experience. After a year and a half of doctors saying things like, "You're depressed", or "it's just stress, take this pill" I finally got a Dr that seemed to really listen and talk to me. I mean this guy took about 20 minutes to talk to me about all sorts of options for me. It was amazing! Anyway I have another test (a little surgery) in Sept. It's a long wait but hey, I've been waiting a long time already and I'm used to it.

Gotta run.
