Salty Apples?

So I have this friend...I don't want to say her name....but I will tell you that she is 8 months pregnant and her name starts with a "C". ANYWAY, so this friend of mine calls me up at about 2:15pm and says....."I need you to help me make 70 caramel apples"!!!! Alright, I think no big deal right. Until she says "By 6:00pm".

O.K so at this point I'm thinking positively and say "yah sure come on over. Let's do it."

At this point of the story I should tell you that Ryan was just leaving for work, so just me and the kids.

So this friend comes over and we begin. Everything is going pretty smoothly until we realize that we have seriously just enough time to get these things made before the 6:00pm deadline. My kids are playing pretty well together for the first 2 hours but then things start to go very very wrong.

The kids start getting a little edgy because they are hungry and there mommie hasn't been spending much time with them at all. We discover that the apples are sticking to the wax paper really bad and we have to do something fast. So I grab the sugar (or is it?) and we sugar the bottoms. This works awesome andwe think we've got it made.

By this time was have 55 done and just one more batch to go. The time is 5 pm and I'm thinking "Hey we're doin pretty good". Then Carlie..oops....I mean my friend has to run out and grab some stuff and I need to finnish the final batch.

While she is gone I get the last batch done and feed my kids dinner. It was nuts. She gets back to the house we quickly wrap all the apples and all is well! I grab one apple for myself (after all that hard work I deserve one right?

About and hour later she calls me and says "Hey did you eat that apple yet?"
I reply "No, why"
"Go taste the bottom of it"
"O.K"
I grab the apple and put my tongue to the bottom expecting the yummie goodness of sugar in my mouth.
"ewe"
It tasted like......SALT. That's right folks. SALT!!!! basically the complete opposite of SUGAR! Can you say embarrassing? I can. And today for me it's spelled S-A-L-T! help

The Beautiful Bride

I've been thinking a lot about the Bride (of Christ) lately. I'm attempting to piece together another drama/dance about it. It's totally just in the thought process right now, nothing solid.

I really enjoyed church on Sunday. It's been a long while since I have sat through an entire service. Ryan took the kids upstairs and I stayed in the service with my mom. I totally enjoyed everything that Brian had to say. He said some great things!

Worship was awesome too. I sort of feel like God is calling to our body for more pressing in to him. To me it feels like we are standing on the bank of a river.......we'll let me try to explain this.....I see us standing on this bank that is a bunch of dark colours. They are all kind of meshed together, with little flecks of red. We are standing with our legs outstretched ready to touch the water. The water is weird....its' kind of sharp (like the waves are almost pointy), we know it's going to hurt a bit to get in. Also the water is crazy colours. Like a crazy rainbow of bright colours.

Anyway that's just what I see. Gotta go Trinity is crying.

Scrapbooking

I have started scrapbooking. My sisters are all really into it and they sucked me in too. Not that I'm complaining. It's tons of fun, and something I've wanted to do for years. I don't really like plain boring photo albums. Scrapbooking is great cause you can add colour and some creativity.

If anyone out there knows of some places where I can get some scrapbooking supplies for a good price let me know. I'd like to get some shape cutters.

So on Monday my cough started. It is much worse today. Dry hacking cough that just won't quit. The kids and Ryan is sick too. It seems like a bunch of people are feeling yucki this week.

To top my sickness off I stepped on a stupid toy Sunday night that has kept me limping for 3 days. I still can't fully walk on my right foot.

My mother is here visiting for 2 weeks which is cool. And Ryan has all of Sunday off so we can stay for the entire church service! YIPPIE!

God Rocks

Today was fantastic! God was soooooo good it was amazing!

What a great beginning today was for our dance/drama/whatever group. We have plenty of ideas and want to keep plugging out visual demonstrations for the people to see. As long as God keeps filling us with ideas and visions and we have the support to see those come to pass we will continue to GO FOR IT!

God bless Yvonne and Jason Parks who are awesome supporters! They are truly quality people. Also, my sister Shawne who came up from Thunder Bay to help us out with all her experience in the performing arts, she ROCKS too!

I will post some pictures as soon as we have some. I feel so totally strengthened by what happened today. I LOVE doing this stuff.........It blows me away all the time that Jesus lets me do stuff like this. I am totally blabbing......I'm just so excited and flying high, but also so totally solid and feeling more grounded in my gifting than I ever have.

I LOVE THE LORD
